Kimbo is a big boy!  He is one of the fabulous dogs available at the Leadville Shelter in Colorado.  Kimbo had a rough start in life, and needed to be taken away from the people keeping him and two other large pit bulls.  Now, Kimbo is on a mission to not only find a new forever home with a loving family, but also to prove that you can’t judge a book by its cover.

Let’s see what the Leadville Shelter has to say about Kimbo:

Kimbo is a large male Chocolate brown pit bull.  Kimbo was removed from his owner along with two other pit bulls.  The owner appeared to be an animal hoarder/ her mother whom stated she has taken many of her animals in past years.  At the time Kimbo was removed he was very underweight as well as the other two Pits.  Kimbo is approx. 5 years -old with no medical record of vaccinations or Veterinary checkups.  He and other pits spent much time outside in a small filthy enclosure without food and water.

The neighbors would continuously call law enforcement regarding these dogs.  People would feed them and give them water.  Finally the court ordered to remove these dogs.  They are all doing well.  We have Spay and neutered and vaccinated them.  Kimbo is grateful to be here at the shelter with us.  He is pretty docile with people and good with other dogs.  Kimbo shows to be a dominant to other male dogs, which may settle down he was recently neutered.

So, is Kimbo the dog that you and your family have been looking for?  Did you know that you DO NOT have to live in the same area as the shelter to adopt one of their amazing dogs?  If you want more information on Kimbo or any of the other dogs they have available at the Leadville Shelter, send an email to [email protected], visit their Facebook page by clicking here, or visiting them 428 E 12th Street in Leadville, Colorado.  You can also click here to find them on PetFinder.
